What's Good: Ranbir Kapoor gives it his all, but for what purpose? I would definitely cheer for a separate short film that was the interval block.

What's Bad: Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh is everything you thought it was bad. Here, things are worse

Loo Break: A competition among friends to see who can watch this nearly three-and-a-half-hour movie without getting up would make for a more interesting conclusion than this one.

Watch or Not?: Only and only if you can leave the cinema hall after the first half

Movie Language: Hindi

Movie Available On: Theater Release

Movie Runtime: 3 hours 21 minutes

The multimillionaire businessman Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor) is the father of Ranvijay Singh (Ranbir Kapoor). It's obvious that his only concern is the financial success of Swastik Oil, his company. He carries the unfulfilled love for his father inside of him until it boils over and turns him into an animal.

His protectiveness toward his father develops into an obsession to the point where he is aware of which hand he uses to hold his penis when he urinates. Oh, and when you think that's a lot, he'll ask you not to shave your pubic hair because it grows naturally. He suffers injuries to receive a heart transplant while rescuing his father, and after sleeping with the fiancée of the deceased man who donated his heart, he ends this terrible second part that was greatly influenced by TikTok videos.

Review of Animal Film: A Study of the Script

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s writing, directing, and editing of his own story is what has hampered his vision to think, "It seems like this would have no effect at all other than lengthening the runtime." Vanga is creating this movie to stroke his ego and respond to the Kabir Singh trolls in the most heinous manner imaginable. I gave Kabir Singh a 4/5 because the movie had the right kind of heart, before all of you started criticizing me.

I support toxic characters because they represent a universal human quality, but when they are portrayed with a weakened motivation, the whole idea is undermined and the audience's potential bond with the character is weakened. Sure, it's not essential to maintain a constant connection with your lead, but at least include us in his environment. In a world of betas, how can one put up with an alpha male? The whole "papa papa" craze is abruptly dropped to highlight Ranvijay's ability to consummate his relationship with the deceased man who gave him the heart, setting up a plot twist that is obvious from a distance.

I'm really disappointed because the movie had some incredible moments that, had they been constrained by a proper story, could have had Jawan's "Vikram Rathore" impact. Because you can't just stop your film at three hours and twenty-one minutes because you shot so much of it, Edwin S. Porter established the principles of movie storytelling through editing back in 1903. Scenes that aren't necessary should be cut; we don't want to watch the main character bragging about his exquisitely made underwear, which has 1000 threads per square foot. The film's runtime and dull second part will prevent it from being anything more than a fun watch.

Though Amit Roy's range is insane, he has surprisingly done well in the action scenes where we can see the most of his involvement. I don't understand the decision to select him as the cinematographer; his prior work includes Dhokha - Round D Corner, Sarkar. The much-discussed 18-minute interval block, MIND BLOWING, is still the standout sequence and is absent from the second half.

Review of Animal Film: Star Performance

After reading the entire script, I find it unbelievable that Ranbir Kapoor signed this. The Tamasha fan in me still believes he was blind to the terrible second half of the movie before he signed on. Considering the box office success of Kabir Singh in the past, he might have consented to this, as he must have been on board by the time the time interval block was being explained to him. This is an attempt worse than Bombay Velvet because, there, we were clear about Anurag Kashyap's vision. Ranbir Kapoor's performance deserved a better film. Everything that happens here is a result of the criticism directed towards the characters of Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, which is why Sandeep chose to depict the characteristics of a real toxic person to the critics.

Apart from being a busy "papa" to a child who becomes a criminal because of him, Anil Kapoor does nothing. That's his one weakness, which he plays down until you truly wish Anil's Balbir had died that day—just like in Rashmika Mandanna's silent trailer dialogue.

Though none of them would have predicted that Kiara Advani's Priti would fall for a toxic lover once more, Rashmika Mandanna's Geetanjali is everything a feminist wanted her to be. He says things like, "4 din pad change karne ke liye kitna naatak karti hai," inflicting pain on her back by stretching and shooting her bra strap at her. First of all, my 50 baar pad change kar raha. His wife still chooses him despite his having slept with another woman, which he later admitted to her. Love triumphs over hate. What if there is only a small amount of adultery and domestic abuse as the cause of the hatred? He's a man, so she should accept it.

The entire Bobby Deol controversy over this? He appears in the movie only to the extent that he does in the teaser, and this is just Race 3 happening to him again. When he and Ranbir's character have a "Martha" moment, you can't help but giggle. I also found it hilarious how many different theories there were regarding Bobby's persona and the movie as a whole. Upon closer inspection, those theories could have easily made a better movie than Mr. Vanga.

Movie Review: Direction & Music

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is displaying a delusional desire to create a film that would push toxic masculinity to the limit, akin to that of Kabir Singh or Arjun Reddy. He was not creating a movie during all of this. He was putting out a message that he wanted everyone to read and consider whether or not to support.

I gave the Animal album a 4 out of 5 stars in my music review because I thought the songs would improve once I understood the circumstances they were set in. I couldn't have been more mistaken. Aside from Arjan Vailly, all the songs had the potential to be hits, but none of them could because it's a part of the better-directed 18-minute interval block scene. Because Harshavardhan Rameshwar devotes all of his energy to his work—second only to Ranbir Kapoor—many scenes are elevated to new heights by the background score.
